Here's a little doe out of Icebox's Quil and Rowland's Erica. This doe has a GORGEOUS coat with excellent density and texture. She will be a late senior at convention time so I am not sure if she will be there or home being bred. Ear number QST sister to QUV. Moved to Live with Dae. Dae, did you lose this doe when your coolers quit?
Can the "off colors" have as good of type as the castors? You betcha they can. Can the dilutes have as good of coats as the castors? Yep, they can too. Just gotta know how to breed those lighter colors for coat.
What are YOU culling?
Here's our convention show team. Any of the animals for sale will be listed here as well as on the for sale page. Contact me at iceboxdesign@hotmail.com if you are interested in purchasing an animal.
This blue doe is out of a black doe from Judon's and a black buck who came to me in vitro out of storm and this doe's mom. This was an oops breeding but it turned out well. This doe placed 4th at convention and is now in breeding.
Yet ANOTHER gorgeous little blue doe. This one is the coat monger. Gorgeous deep blue color, gorgeous texture and density. On hold until I decide what I am doing. :) She is a sister to the white and castor on this page. What an awesome cross! Now in breeding.
This pretty little castor doe is out of an ICU son and one of my favorite JC lines. The coats on the animals from that JC line can stand up to almost any line out there. She placed 2nd at convention in the Junior doe class.
One of my favorite chin does. I also have two young kits out of her which were born about a month before the Mn State show where she earned her first leg. Placed 2nd in sr doe class at convention behind BOV winner. Now in breeding.
I have only a couple show animals at this time. I have drastically reduced my herd for winter but am doing some breeding now for young juniors for convention sales. Check back in a couple months to see what I come up with for show stock!
Past Show animals now in breeding.
Icebox's Husky and Icebox's 20 produced this gorgeous buck with a coat of fur to die for. His brother Sand already has a BOB and a BOS on his first trip out of the barn. This guy hasn't been shown yet but will be going to live with Jolene Fredrickson
Icebox's Husky and Icebox's 20 produced this pretty little doe. She doesn't quite have the fur of her brothers but it is close and her type is gorgeous. She may be put immediately into breeding but I will have to think that over.
Icebox's Sand out of Husky and 20. This cross was done 100% for fur and let me tell you...this buck and his siblings have it but Sand's is particularly thick. He's already got a BOB and a BOS on his first trip out of the barn. He was the only rabbit I showed at that show. I am already anxiously expecting 2 litters out of him.
These two bucks are out of QUV (out of Quil) and Husky this cross was done to produce fur and type for breeding into the chins and sable points. If they were does they would be stayin but I already have too many white bucks. I expect them to have above average density and excellent texture and they already have the type that my lines are so well known for. Since the chin gene is gone they can be used in pretty much any program for any color. They could be agouti but are most likely both selfs. Both could throw blues as well and are most likely blacks genetically but they could also throw tortes because Husky is likely a carrier of torte. $200 each
Icebox's Husky and Icebox's 56 produced this gorgeous little castor doe. I really like this gal and she is closely related to the castor (shown down in the old show animals on this page) who placed 2nd at convention. Hopefully her coat and fur can carry her up there this year as well.
This gal is a sister to the castor doe at left. She too has very pretty type and will likely stay here for breeding into the white line to help improve type even more in that line. She doesn't look it in this photo but I like her type better than her castor sisters.
Icebox's Wee Bit. Yep, I was bitten by the fur bug when this doe was just a kit. Her dad is the broken blue torte buck and her mom is a black doe bred down from EZDae's Storm. This doe is staying home to breed cuz her daddy died and she is the only kit with fur out of him but I wanted to show her off a bit here first. :)
This is Icebox's Josh and he is out Icebox's D6 and Cresthill's Artic. His coat is going to be nice and his type is outstanding with a very full loin, nice length, and nice depth. He may be moving to California.
This little guy is out of Icebox's MT and the brother of Icebox's Oz. He is hard as a rock and very well filled. He may be moving to California along with his sister and possibly the blue buck at left.
This little gal is out of Icebox's MT and the brother of Icebox's Oz. I really like this doe...she is deep and well filled with a very promising coat and a half sister who placed 6th in the black class at convention. She may be moving to California.
Bred from a EZDae's Storm bred black doe and Husky. This doe shows alot of promise. Very full in the loin and very very good type with a nice coat to boot. She may be moving to California to help a breeder with blues.
